*COSATU THREATEN A MASSACARE+

So what was actually said by Dumisani Dakile on Friday, was

“What they are doing is trying to provoke us… the patience is running out. If they want another Marikana we will give it to them on a silver platter,”

The scary thing is you could actually see it happening! given some of what we are getting used to.

FOOD MESSAGES – "Food is a Weapon" "Buy wisely, cook carefully and eat it all"

this is not the crop of the poster I wanted – is there a way to control this other that the "right pixel ratio"

This message, on a Second World War poster in the news museum at Pilgrims Rest in South Africa, is one the world is considering to reduce the high level of waste in first world households. This in the face of climate, population and culture changes that threaten food supply.

This message is just the same as it was in England in the war, although the slogan "Food is the Weapon" is no longer.

On a human level it's interesting to wonder why we wouldn't want to "Buy wisely, cook carefully and eat it all" which is routinely done by the poor and undernourished.

What Are We Coming To?

Reshared post from +Dave Harcourt

What Are We Coming To?

Four or five guys like this one, took off their clothes and ran on to the field in a match between the Crusaders and the Force.

The Crusaders were worried about the safety of their thirty 90 kg plus, ultra fit players at the hands of these boozy show offs.

The Crusaders, firmly controlled by the Force, felt they would have scored from their half if play hadn't been stopped

The episode was described by the authorities using terms like embarrassing, marring, unacceptable, not tolerated, disgraceful, inadequate, incompetent, idiots, farcical, failure, minority and perpetrators.

But if you look at the faces of the spectators behind the security guy…..

Aren't we just getting too serious and politically correct?

I was just listening to a Documentary podcast from BBC and remembered these stunning numbers:

Chickens eaten a year = 50 billion
Feed cost as a percentage of chicken cost = 70%
Capacity of Irish processed chicken factory = 20 000 tons/ year
Line speed in an abattoir = 8 500 birds per hour
Irish abattoir capacity = 860 000 per day
Market size = 450 billion dollars per year

Facebook not only paid zero taxes for 2012 — they were actually paid money by the government — i.e., your tax dollars!

According to this article on AllFacebook.com, Facebook not only paid zero taxes for the 2012 tax year, they were given $429 million in net tax refunds.

That's right: You paid more taxes than Facebook did, and some of your taxes went to Facebook!
